ThinkGeoEnergy, an international online media outlet and one of the main information sources for the geothermal sector, has published an interview with Lyd Skúlason, specialist in geothermal matters and head of department HD energy scene, which discusses the development that HD has led in the field of repairs and services for turbine equipment in Iceland.
In the interview, Lýður describes how HD has, in recent years, built up a strong domestic capability for the maintenance, refurbishment and assembly of turbine units. This has succeeded in significantly shortening service times and reducing the need to send equipment abroad for repairs, with the associated costs.
HD has undertaken a wide range of projects for energy companies across the country, including routine maintenance and major refurbishments. The installation of a new turbine at was recently completed. Svartsengi, where the specialised technical work, settings and composition were handled by HD.
