Over the past term, HD has made targeted changes to the company's leadership by appointing new executives. These steps place an increased emphasis on technical leadership, marketing, and the ongoing development of the company, to support growth and an even more robust service for Icelandic business.
Last year was Stella Björg Kristinsdóttir appointed marketing manager and at the end of the year took Valgeir Pétursson in the role of Head of the company's new technical department. The appointments are part of a comprehensive strategy, with a greater emphasis on a clearer market vision and more targeted development of the service offering and HD's unique selling point.
New technology enhances synergy and operational security
With the appointment of Valgeir Pétursson, a new technology division has been established at HD, where the technical department and the condition monitoring department are combined under one strong division.
The aim is to enhance the interplay between development, design, monitoring and condition assessments, and to create a clearer flow in workflows. The emphasis will be on a data-driven approach, real-time monitoring, and targeted maintenance decisions, with the aim of improving operational reliability, efficiency, and performance for clients in the industrial, maritime, and energy sectors.
Valgeir is a qualified mechanical engineer with extensive experience in specialised technical solutions. He worked for many years at Össur, including as Director of Product Development for braces and supports, where he led international, multidisciplinary teams and participated in the development of market-leading solutions.
New Marketing Manager and a clearer market vision
Stella's appointment established a new role reporting to the company's CEO, marking an increased focus on marketing, brand building, and clearer communication of HD's service offering and unique selling proposition.
Stella has extensive experience in sales and marketing and has held a variety of management positions, including Marketing Manager for the fisheries industry at Marel and Head of Sales, Marketing and Product Development at KS Dairy Union.
Stella is a business graduate with a Master's degree in International Marketing and Management from CBS. She has extensive experience in business-to-business marketing and is well-versed in the challenges and opportunities within such an environment. In her work, she focuses on building the HD brand, the targeted and consistent communication of the company's expertise, and providing increased support for the company's sales efforts.
