Energy sector specialists familiarise themselves with developments in rotor and hub blade repairs.

Good guests visited HD Industrial and Technical Services in Mosfellsbær, where the spotlight was on the development of the company's specialised activities in rotor and guide vane repairs.

The purpose of the visit was to present the targeted development that has taken place in recent years, where HD has developed the facilities, procedures and expertise to tackle complex repairs on key equipment of the energy system. A new and expanded rotor workshop is a key part of this journey, enabling the company to respond quickly and safely to failures that could otherwise have a significant impact on electricity generation.

In parallel, HD has built up and specialised its operations in the field of guide vane repairs, through investments in specialised equipment, the implementation of certified welding processes and targeted staff training. A new specialised sliding headstock lathe, the only one of its kind in the country, is a key part of this development and further strengthens the company's ability to service all of the country's geothermal power plants.

International projects were also discussed, which highlight that the expertise developed here has a role to play beyond our borders. The visit provided a clear picture of the unique position HD has established for itself in this field.

The big picture is clear: HD has purposefully built unique expertise and facilities that are crucial for the operational security of the energy system, positioning the company as a leading force in the development and maintenance of Iceland's energy infrastructure, now and into the future.
