Fisheries 2025: Artificial Intelligence and a Comprehensive Service Offering

HD will have a stand at the exhibition. Fisheries 2025 at Laugardalshöll from 10–12 September. There we will present our comprehensive service offering and innovations in the use of artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance.

At the exhibition, HD will present its diverse services for the shipping and industrial sectors – covering the entire process from needs analysis to the construction or procurement of equipment, installation, and regular maintenance. The exhibition will also demonstrate how the company supports operators with both routine ship maintenance and specialised projects related to modifications and repairs. With a comprehensive service offering, clients do not need to look in many places – HD handles the project from start to finish and finds the right solution, whatever the challenge.

Innovations in the use of artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance of machinery will also be presented. The AI learns about the specific equipment, creates a baseline, analyses deviations and notifies users if they are significant enough. At the stand, there will be a simulator that mimics equipment failure, and sensors that detect movements, so visitors can see in real time how the software analyses the changes.

Thus, at a relatively low cost, it is possible to detect potential faults in good time, reduce the likelihood of unexpected stoppages and lower costs. Furthermore, unnecessary maintenance can be avoided, for example by postponing scheduled maintenance if monitoring devices show an unchanged condition. The result is more targeted maintenance, fewer operational disruptions and better use of funds.

HD has served the Icelandic fishing industry for decades and is today among the largest and most experienced service providers in its field in Iceland. The company traces its roots to Hamars Ltd.However, following its merger with several other specialised companies, it has evolved into a dynamic service provider that closely monitors developments in the industry and constantly adapts to the latest technological innovations and customer needs.

„We see ourselves as partners to fisheries, not just service providers. That means we stand with our customers, always looking for the best solutions and striving to ensure their operations remain stable and safe,“ says Thorleifur Halldórsson, Project Manager in the HD Operations Department.

At the exhibition, we will have special offers on pumps and motors that are particularly well-suited for the fishing industry. We warmly welcome both new and existing customers to our stand at Laugardalshöll. Happy Hour will be at 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
