It is always gratifying when the knowledge, professionalism and craftsmanship of the HD staff are allowed to shine in projects that leave a lasting legacy.<\/strong><\/p>

HD recently completed the design and construction of two steel road signs for G\u00edsli's Collection at Uppsala<\/a> in Sel\u00e1rdal in Arnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. The signposts are a gift from HD to the museum and will welcome visitors and direct them to the museum when it formally opens on 7 August 2026.<\/p>

The first signpost has already been installed and makes a strong impression on the approach to the museum. The other will be installed before the museum opens.<\/p>

Combines design, craftsmanship and technical expertise<\/strong><\/p>

The signposts were designed by HD's technicians to a model and then laser-cut from steel in HD's workshop in K\u00f3pavogur. The result is a striking steel sculpture that combines art, design and quality craftsmanship, and fits in exceptionally well with the rugged landscape of Sel\u00e1rdalur.<\/p>

The project is a good example of how the expertise of HD staff is utilised not only in service to Icelandic industry but also in projects that support culture, history and society.<\/p>

We at HD are proud to have had the opportunity to contribute to this interesting project. It is pleasing to see the result of the work in place and become part of the experience for those who visit the G\u00edsli Museum in Uppsala.<\/p>
